about

First extra long track in a while. this is a beaut! Outstanding vocals and playing from the musicans as it bobs and weaves through classic rock posturing, orchestral meanderings, funky improvisation and a climax of epic ness . . . . ending on a single bass guitar note!

The song itself deals with something we all have to face. . . . growing old and not recognising who you once were. A heady topic for sure, but the massed mellotrons and harmony guitars help ease thepain!

This is quite the ear-worm!

lyrics

I’m looking in the mirror
And I don't know who you are
I seem to recognize your face
Maybe you used to be me?

Time is passing us so quickly by
Faster than ever before
Age is creeping up on me
And death is closing the door

Don't know who I am
And I don't know who you are
We are not what we seem to be
Never thought we would come this far

Don’t know who I am
Don’t know who you are
Don’t know about anything, anyone, anymore

Don't know who I am
Don't know who you are
Don’t know about anything, anyone, anymore

What once was easy
Is now just so hard
The future is getting much bleaker now
With every turn of the card

Time is the great ruler
As sturdy as they come
Reflections of a life gone by
Burn brighter than the sun

Don't know who I am
And I don't know who you are
We are not what we seem to be
Never thought we would come this far

Don’t know who I am
Don’t know who you are
Don’t know about anything, anyone, anymore

Don't know who I am
Don't know who you are
Don’t know about anything, anyone, anymore

So this is how it ends
Staring at my skin
What once was water tight
Is now so pale and thin

Is it all too late now
To change the way things have gone?
Just where is my time machine?
Just where did it all go wrong?

Don't know who I am
And I don't know who you are
We are not what we seem to be
Never thought we would come this far

Don’t know who I am
Don’t know who you are
Don’t know about anything, anyone, anymore

Don't know who I am
Don't know who you are
Don’t know about anything, anyone, anymore
