Is this a dream Cos it feels like I'm walking on air (Too scared to breathe) I'm afraid to wake up Cos it feels like I'm walking on ice (Too frozen to move) How can you say That you won’t go away When I can see the door closing in your eye? The Architect Of Light Is building me a bridge I cannot cross (Suspended in starshine) The light on the water Calls my name I dare not go to them (Freedom is my fear) How can you say That you won’t go away When I can see the door closing in your eye?

I’m looking out at you From this crack in the ice The light shines from the stars And bounces off the trees And when I find the way Out from Under The Architect Of Light will take me home The sky split in two And suddenly you appeared You looked to me so strange And I was so afraid And when I find the way Out from Under The Architect Of Light will take me home

Time was when I felt so low I couldn't get off the ground You somehow lift me up again And make me smile once more It's only because of you That I make it through the night Nothing stands in my way You're my Architect of Light I'm afraid to stay with you In case I want some more When you look at me that way I start heading for the door In the garden of that summer long ago You led me through the pathways and trees To where the shadows fell on the ground And the sky was violently ill You turned to me And put your fingers to my lips 'Hush', you said, 'this is my world now' 'Hush', you said, 'you can never go home' 'Hush', you said, 'you can never go home' As the sounds of day turned to night I knew that it was all but a dream A passing fancy that had passed me by Alone at my machinery Watching your doors and windows For one more glimpse I would give my life For one more glimpse I would die How well I remember the touch of your skin How well I remember the times we shared Those days are now gone Can't be replaced I close my eyes and you're the only face I see Architect of Light Smile the stars on me again Architect of Light Smile the stars on me again Architect of Light It's only because of you That I make it through the night Nothing stands in my way You're my Architect of Light

Notes:
This album was originally released in 2002 and quickly sold out. It has been out of print ever since, though it has made a sporadic appearance as a Digital Download.

This has always been a favourite release of mine, capturing as it does our many flavours: by turns classic prog with some funk, jazz and folk themes - all our influences and sounds into one glorious conceptual epic!

The original album was not without its flaws, though - the biggest culprits being the poorly produced drums and practically obscured brass. They were ok, but did not do the music justice.

Well, fast forward to 2014.

With new technology at my disposal, a bit of time and patience, between 11th March and 1st October, I finally produced the album it should have been. Nothing has been added or taken away (though it was tempting to redo some organ solos!): everything is the same, (for good or bad) but totally remixed from the ground up.

There is a new found clarity, punch and power to the music that was not evident before: the guitars rock, they scream, they sing. It's almost like a different album now.

Enjoy.
